What Makes Life Meaningful?

I have a philosophical question to drop on a Monday morning... What makes life meaningful? What constitutes living a meaningful life from your perspective?

How often do you think about this question? Do you feel like you’re living a meaningful life now or is it something you struggle with?

I’ve been obsessed with the topic of meaning for a long time—like, my whole adult life. There have been many times when I felt like a cog in a machine, going through the motions of life with seemingly no real point to any of it. It was crippling and demoralizing. I didn’t even want to get out of bed in the morning.

Then there have been other times in my life when everything just seems aligned. I was working on things that felt important to me and utilizing my skills in a way that was fun and challenging. I had dreams and aspirations within reach, and reasons to be excited about getting up each morning.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how much of a difference that makes, but also how a lot of that is defined by ourselves. We can choose to find meaning in anything we do, although sometimes it’s much easier than others, right?

Anyway, I'd be curious to hear people's thoughts. What makes life meaningful to you?
